Default Massages and 80/20 productivity

I know most of us include regular professional massage in our ideal lifestyle that we aspire to but I heard on the radio recently that a study concluded that 2 one hour massages per week increased office worker productivity by 70%. That certainly fits the 80/20 model that 2 hours of massage led to a 70% in the remaining 38 - effectively creating 26.6 hours of productivity. This has me wondering that perhaps this isn't something just to be aspired to but to be used now as a tool for the process of achieving our ideal lifestyle no less than daily vitamins? I hadn't thought of it before - maybe it's the western mindset.

As we are not typical office workers (or are in the process of escaping such a lifestyle) has there been any study into the financial impact on entrepreneurs who went to masseuses on a regular basis? Have any of you noticed a positive impact on your productivity/income by getting regular professional massages?

I don't get professional massages....but the local rub and tug has some great deals on happy endings. (I kid, I kid).

Makes sense. You may also want to meditate for 15 minutes per day. A calm mind and body is efficient.

Default Meditation

I just wanted to plug an amazing book on the subject of Meditation: The Relaxation Response. Herbert Benson MD.

Written in the 70's, the data supporting the amazing health benefits have held up over the decades.

Highly recommended. It offers both proof of why and details on how.

You have just convinced me to schedule a massage this coming week. I kept saying I should look into the costs, but I kept putting it off.

Well....as of Monday evening I did Monday through Thursday's work....

I don't know if it was the massage or if efficiency was on my brain but after a few hours tomorrow morning I'll have finished everything for the week as far as insurance adjusting. That will give me a lot of time this week to get some houses that are currently vacant rent ready before winter hits hard.

BTW Jake the massage cost me 45 bucks for a chinese massage that left me battered and relaxed. My chiropractor just hired a swedish masseuse at his office who charges about the same. I'm going to try her out next time.

While on my cruise in Alaska, I gave in and spent the money on a massage. I don't feel anything was lost and that it was completely worth it. I'm pretty sure it was a swedish massage, so I think that's what I'll go for. Only problem is I don't have the $50 at the moment for a 1/2 hr massage...
