Just like the cover of Tim's book. I read 4HWW in 2007 and it absolutely changed the course of my whole life. I started a business because of it, I left to travel & live overseas because of it, and now my beautiful English (also entrepreneur) girlfriend and I have managed to find an incredible home that overlooks the beach on an island here in south Thailand for the next 6 months until we move on to some other destination.

For dreamliners out there, this place in Koh Phangan is less than $500 per month, and it's a fantastic work environment to remain productive.

If I can do it, you can do it!

Tim is a huge inspiration and motivator, and he drives others to be the same, so I'm very thankful for his book and all the ideas he's shared with the world. Thank you Tim!

I've seen many muses posted on this board with requests for feedback and questions about how to improve the muse.

Wondering if anyone out there is brave enough :) to share a muse that is not only up and running, but successfully automated and generating decent revenue?

I'm basically curious to see what it takes to reach the level of success we're all striving to achieve.

Thanks much!

I know the 4HWW is mostly geared towards VA's, but I'm wondering if anyone on here opted to get a LOCAL Personal Assistant? If so:

How was the experience? What did they do for you?

How did you find a good Personal Assistant? (I'm guessing Craigslist partially)

How much did you pay them and what part of the country are you in?

thanks...

I'm rather worried. I got laid off from my big time engineering job 4 months ago. Was super worried but hit it hard developing my own business. I've now got a seriously legitimate income vehicle in place. Built a holding company, and have the worker bees in place. Just need to find the companies to invest in (most are not ready for the next step yet so I'm waiting).

However, I ventured back into the corporate jungle for a few months (an opportunity presented itself to make a good 50k or so in a few months). I want to take the money and pump it back into my holding company to do more of my adhoc angel investing.

I'm seriously wondering if it's worth it though. I'm really worried that I'll loose this amazing mindset of intense productivity and positivity I worked so hard to build up while I was laid off and building my own business. The mindset that enabled me to find incredible opportunities in a time when most people are down in the mud.

The contract I landed is the typical joke of a corporate job. I just want to know. I'm sure there's those of you out there that maintain your sanity yet live the life while holding a corporate job. How do you do it? Do you have any suggestions? I'm looking to make the weekends as exciting as humanly possible to keep my motivation going. That's about all I can think of.

The last two jobs canned me despite I was insanely productive and made them tens of millions of dollars. So I know I've just got to play dumb and be non productive to hold out in this contract which COMPLETELY goes against what I've thought myself. It's just all got me rather worried.

Hey all-

Sorry for all the posts today. Huge brainstorming session.

I am creating a muse that revolves around using Smart Boards, interactive whiteboards, in the classroom. It is an e-course that uses DVD's, workbooks, online stuff, etc.

Can the word "Smart Board" be in the title of my product? I am thinking that it can not because I believe I remember instances when apple and facebook have stopped people from using names that have apple or even 'book' at the end, in the case of facebook.

But there would be no stopping me from writing a book and putting apple or facebook in the title. Right? Would a DVD learning course be different from a book?

Hey,

I just read through the 4 hour work week and I must say that it's quite the eye opening book for me. I'm currently trying to apply the principles in this book to see what it can do it terms of giving me a better lifestyle.

I manage a towing business for a living, and I'm looking for ways to automate the customer service process. I handle a lot of phone calls from cutomers in a day, and would like to find out how to automate this. So I decided to join the forum and try to gather a little bit more information. If anybody here has any suggestions on how to outsource customer service calls, or if anybody can point me to some good call centers that are cost-effective. Or if anybody can just give me a rundown on the process or point me to any good resources for hiring people to handle customer service for me, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

I came up with a fun idea over the weekend that I want to test. So, question for the experts out there: Is it possible to use Weebly or Wordpress (or any other free/simple tool for website creation) to develop a site that will allow users to post messages to the site and allow comments on the original post. Facebook-like design is what I would need.

I'm hoping I can play around with the concept first using a free tool, then get more advanced once I prove the concept.

Thanks!

Hey! I'm starting to cash flow nicely! It's really exciting however, I have a new challenge now. Accounting. How do you guys manage your books?

The way my business is set up is as a holding company. My partner is a stock market guru like no other. He takes profits from our various business ventures and manages them to grow the money. Then in turn we both get paid a salary (based off our dream line exercises) and the extra money keeps growing in the investment fund.

The fund operates as a holding company as well. We look for and invest in small companies (online t-shirt business, start-up winery, realestate, etc.) We just help out friends starting companies that have shown consistent success in the past but need more money to grown their business.

Again all profits from our business investments are funneled through the investment fund, held in various markets, and salaries paid out to my friend and I that own the holding company.

Now I don't know exactly what type of a business container to use for this... S-Corp, LLC, etc. And I'm not sure how to manage the books, what tools are good (e.g. Quick Books, turbo tax, etc.) and all that.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey guys,

change of plans from my last thread: (http://fourhourworkweek.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=5410), we are know looking at doing a month...

Hey guys,

change of plans from my last thread: (http://fourhourworkweek.com/vBulleti...ead.php?t=5410), we are know looking at doing a month in Thailand in March 2011 (and skip canada, and just do europe on 2012).

I am looking at accommodation online and since it is considered 'peak season' everything is twice the price of off peak.

We are considering Koh Lanta but are looking for somewhere that is 800baht or less a night (preferably with WIFI).

This is looking pretty slim, and I was wondering if it would be best to just book a couple of nights for when we get there and try and get a better deal when we arrive (giving us the chance to barter in the hope the tourists are starting to leave?).

Does anyone who is (or has been to thailand) have any suggestions?
