After years of talking with people (real life, message boards, char rooms, etc.), I know that there are people looking for ideas on various topics (yet all related in a way) that are free or low-cost. There are various websites that do offer tips and ideas but none have all the topics on one site and they are approached from the “budget” mentality.
My idea would to create a site with 101 ideas that are free or low cost. There would be a page for each topic. Each idea would have a free or low-cost idea but also have an affiliate link to where they could purchase the product if the wanted to spend the money (e.g. The book XYZ by John Doe (which would be an affiliate link to Amazon) contains great information and you may be able to find it at your library (that’s the free part).
Some of the ideas may just have a link to something on-line that is also free but some may also contain links to higher but still reasonably priced products if the are wanting to treat themselves. I may toss in the occasional high-end product just for fun because someone may absolutely have to have it. All affiliate links would be to well known sites like Amazon, companies that the readers probably have heard or sites that I have personally bought from and can vouch for.
I did a quick search on some high-end idea/product keywords and all I came up with was sites that either sold only the high-end products or talked about the more expensive side of the topics. I would think that someone who was doing some dreaming and searching high-end sites, would come to mine to find out how to get the high-end on a budget rather than have a target market of those looking for budget tips to begin with. Don’t know if that made sense or not.
Yay? Nay? Totally confusing?
