Hi,
I'm wanting to get a logo designed my new company, but I cannot find the reference in the book. I remember reading in there that there is a website that you pay something like $50 and everyone submits their ideas and you pick the best one. Can anyone help my memory by listing the website I'm talking about?
Thanks
Jane.

The team over at 99 Designs have also just released a new service that would be worth checking out:
http://99designs.com/logo-design/store
It's pre-designed logos; that they will tweak for you.. $99 total.
The customer uses the logo as part of the process to store your business in his memory. If the logo is generic with only the name changed your business becomes part of the worlds soup. Don't go there.... $99 is too expensive that way!

Not sure how fancy of a logo you are using, but for my site I just created a simple logo. I used this website that while pretty basic it enabled me to create a logo for free.
You do have to supply an email address where they will send you the files to use. Pretty quick and painless.

Hope this helps,

Vistaprint also offers the same service for tweaking some existing module to prepare something personnalised.
Costs something like 50€ from what I remember.

I agree - if you can help it, avoid it. Do a bit of research and develop your own logo. Speaking as a person with some design training - what you want to do is not repeat what everyone else or others have done already - you want to stand out. Get familiar also with your particular market and niche. So, I suggest you work out first the values (words) you want to project in the market place, then look for some visuals (magazines etc) of these - also the ones that do not - this will hone down your research better as you will know better what to avoid. Don't forget to list the old 'done before' stuff too for avoidance purposes.
Then, start thinking about your design. If anything, you will have something to approach a designer with and work with - that way you get value for money if you do decide to pay someone else.

Also try www.brandstack.com. Most of the logos are a bit more expensive than $50 but they some of them are also quite professional.
you can use online templates for this task. it can solve your problem..
Do not stand out in a crowd, do not gather attention, Do not get beyond "GO"
