My plan is to resell supplements from a big supplement company. What would be the best way to contact them?
I'm thinking about sending an email a long the lines of this one:
Hi.
I am interested in reselling one of your supplements. Could you provide me with information about this?
Regards,
xxxx

Instead of finding the product first, you might want to test it out, then try it. With no testing, you really bring nothing to the table. You also stand the chance of eating cases of supplements that you can't sell. If your minimum order is one, you COGS is going to be retail you know.

Making supplements is relatively simple to get into.
You should check out private label manufacturing. They will even do custom formulas (more $ per unit).
I contacted about 10 via email and got quotes from 3-4. Move from email to phone quickly though to negotiate.
I never got around to doing anything with the idea. But make sure to get several quotes to give you an idea of price per unit and potential price points.
Also, ask if they offer any labeling help/label design. Shipping etc...

Also keep in mind you are entering a crowded pool and you are a small shark in a pool with a lot of great whites!

Yeah, I'll test it first. So far I've ordered 8 products (through another reseller) and we'll se how the sale of those goes.
My plan is to laucn a website and just sell it from there.

Does it sound like a good plan?

It doesn't sound like a plan at all buddy. That barely even gets you a ticket. If you want to play the game you need a better plan.
What companies have you contacted?
What specific supplements are you interested in selling?
Which have you tested to see viability in sales?
What will your domain name be?
What shopping cart will you use?
How will you buy, obtain, store and ship the products?
What is your projected profit margin, sales and first year projected cash-flow?
Doesn't sound like you have any sort of plan at all...just a variation of the dead-horse idea of "I wanna sell some supplements from a website. Do you think this is a good idea?" that keeps popping up here from people who've given NO thought to this.

I've been working on this too and TimW is spot on. It is an incredibly crowded field trying to capture a small niche. I'm a step behind (or ahead) - i'm looking for consumer survey companies to conduct some maket research for me first. I have two sport specific products in mind, if it seems feasible, great, if not I have another Muse i've been working on as well.

Shoot me a PM.
But again I would take to heart what Tim and Kam wrote above.
One of the reasons I decided not to proceed with doing it myself was that I had literally done no research beyond seeing that there were not many makers of what I wanted.
Not a great strategy but on the plus side it is not an expensive venture compared to others as price per unit was relatively low and the product was stable for about 2 years under the correct conditions.
Maybe spending a little, "learning money", would be beneficial in the journey. At least you can guarantee you will not make the same mistakes in the future.
That is something else you would need to explore as well; make sure to identify the shelf life of the product so that you can price accordingly as it gets closer to expiration.
