Hi all,
Well I have followed the advice given here and I have organised a logo and am now working on a website to test my muse, but my problem is trying to represent a product that doesn't exist yet. My muse is coloured bbq covers - currently you can only buy black ones. Any thoughts on how I can do this? Would photo's of designs be sufficient? There are some free textile pattern design sites I could play around with. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are plenty of great fabric sites around - let me know if you need any websites. Im sure someone good at photoshop could convert a boring black BBQ cover into another plain colour and possibly even into a pattern (a stripe might be tricky). Even if just using a plain photoshopped in then the patterns could be chosen from digital swatches?

If the shape is pretty simple you could go onto the website of any major 3d package and get someone to model and render it with a bunch of patterns of your choice for a small amount. Once it's modelled, it's a 30 second job for them to put in other repeating material textures. I'd personally start first with blenderartists.org as there's a lot of talent there without a lot of available work. As the software is free legally, people using it don't have software costs to recover, and so often charge less. Just ask to see previous work from whoever offers to do it for you.

I have been onto the blenderartists site and its amazing what stuff they can produce! I have made enquiries so see how I go. Thanks again for the advice.
