Hello everyone. First post and first muse. I would really appreciate any suggestions.

www.relaxedpublicspeaking.com

The site needs a couple of tweaks but I didn't want to wait until everything was perfect to take the first step.

Also:

-testimonials will be uploaded next week, after a conference for 50 people.

-product pic will be created with a clear logo later on.

Thanks so much for your time. Looking forward to making some good friends here. All the best!

90 views and not one review. :D I will be starting the adwords testing next week after I get the testimonials this Saturday.

Looks like a great site. Perhaps put a button higher up on the page for them to try out the product. You might lose some prospective customers if they don't want to have to scroll all the way down to the bottom. Give them a chance to buy right away before they change their mind.

Great site though, I really like the pictures, especially the one of your CD kit. Best of luck!

Stevea326, thanks so much for your comment. You are absolutely right. The purchase button higher on the page is something I thought about when I compared my page to the PX Method example. Now you just confirmed it and I did the necessary changes. Thanks again.

1.) So obviously, the site is about public speaking. However you hold your sale's pitch in text. If it were me, what I'd do is turn the sales letter into a video with me featured as the speaker. See, aside from appropriately representing the site, the video will also give the impression that I know what I am talking about. Now, expertise is what sells in the business you are targeting.

2.) However, if you want to stay with the text based landing page/squeeze page, what I can suggest is to make the font size a bit bigger. It may not apply to all, but I personally find the words on the site hard to read. The texts being compressed don't help the situation either. As such, it might be better to anticipate that all your viewers prefer a much bigger font than assume they don't, and risk them bypassing your site.

3.) From the lay-out perspective, you can take a look at http://streetmagicmastery.com/ for reference. I think their lay out for an opt-in page is fantastic. I know this so because I've tested stuff like this before. The combination of a video on the left hand side and a huge opt-in box on the right encourages people to take action as soon as they are informed of the product. And if you were to consider applying opt-in incentives with it; you can guarantee your site huge conversion rates day by day.

Now, what I mean by opt-in incentive is giving free downloads, trials or samples of your product to whoever decides to register to your site. With these, you get to maximize your opt-in site for both marketing and data collection. Opt-incentives will first, fill your data bank with a list of email addresses of people who are interested in what you are selling. This is what you will use to strengthen your internet marketing campaign. Second, opt-in incentives will also instigate word-of-mouth advertising since people will more or less provide their peers and colleagues with information about where they could get something related to their need, for FREE.

4.) To add, I think you should make your product image a lot bigger since the small one you have does not impress all that much. You need the product image to pop out and attract your audience the second they see it.

5.) Lastly, although "HACK THE FEAR" is catchy in some way, I'm not a big fan of it, especially in relation to what you are selling. "Hacking" is probably too much of a geek word, if you don't mind my saying, and it will certainly not relate to your target audience. Public speaking is not usually explored by people who'd relate to word "hacking", so I'd like to suggest that you change it to something else..., say "Winning people over"… something that has a positive and optimistic ring to it. If it were me, I'd remove "fear" as well since it is not something that sells.

Well, that’s about it. I hope I’ve helped you out in some way.

Cheers,

Pete Williams

Pete,

Thanks so much for taking the time to write that post. All of the ideas are great. I will definitely consider each one. I tweaked the font size and the words are bigger now. Also I think you are right about the title. I will brainstorm other titles.

The opt-in incentive is something I hadn't considered. By looking at the link you provided and getting their report I can see why it is a much better idea than just selling upfront.

The product image is not the actual image of the product, so yeah, I need to get around fixing that to give a better impression of the offer.

Thanks again, your post really helped.

Finally I got the testimonials after a free 4 hour conference and uploaded them to the page. I also created a new pic for the product (still not as good as I would like it to be but it is a start.) Gotta get some rest. I came home and went to bed at almost 4am after playing a gig and started the conference 5 hours later at 9am.

My 2 cts :

-Video of one of your presentation would be good on the landing page

-I would put some testimonials on the landing page as well

liam, thank you!

Yes, I am working on getting a video ready. I had no time to arrange the video recording of the last conference where I got the testimonials from. So now what I plan to do is this:

-I will give a new conference and get the whole thing on video
-I will redo the page, using just a small portion of the video on the landing page along with some testimonials
-I will offer a free download of a longer sample, a written report or maybe both to those who sign in
-instead of using the product info I have on the landing page right now I will use it with the download/report or subsequent emails
-THEN I will start the adwords campaign

This will probably take a few days, especially because I am offering the product in English and Spanish, so the above list gets multiplied by two. I'll keep posting on my progress.:)
