View Full Version : Help-Muse worth it?

I did a dry test using Google. My muse is for a book on library skills so it is kind of a strange one. Most people who will want this will be able to pay for it out of a school budget so it wouldn't cost them anything out of pocket. I set up my webpage to get email address to which I sent a free lesson plan if they signed up. I had 25 sign ups in 5 days. I got 500 clicks in those 5 days and my campaign cost $200. (way more than I was expecting) I don't know what other kind of info would be needed for this. No one signed up to actually try to purchase the book... I had a wufoo form that would have told them they were on back order and sent me the info but I didn't get any of those. So, what does this info tell me? Is it worth actually writing the book and trying to sell?
Thanks! Oh and let me know if more info is needed.

Uh, Anybody?
I sent out the free lesson plans that were requested and so far only 13 out of the 25 have downloaded them. I am thinking maybe I should go with an E-book instead of a hard copy and also maybe I should just invest some time in creating a library website to get revenue from adsense and Amazon referrals.
I have created a survey that i plan to send to the people who downloaded the plans to get some testimonials.
Any other advice?

I've had this happen to a couple of my muses before as well.. generally i've found that people sign up to get an idea on the quality of your information. Make your free download informative and easy to follow and they'll likely circle back for the full download. That being said, no.. you shouldn't write the book... yet. You may end up wasting your time doing so. Wait until you have consistent fake sales and then produce the product.
test different ad versions, different sales copy, different prices, etc.. find one that converts well and then go.
