I start my first full time job tomorrow.
Hopefully it will motivate me a little more now that I will really be getting the 8-5 worklife. Maybe it will help motivate me to move forward with a muse.

Dont worry about it too much.
Full time jobs fund dreams. Just dont get too dependent on that full time job as your security blanket.
you are not alone there, I'm hoping to do the same soon ;-) I have just discovered that there is actually a field where I am an expert and where there are job openings!

Well, thats a good reason to do it Sven.
Me on the other hand am doing it because I have no other means to support myself. This job sucks, and I "should" be making more and have a better job, but I haven't had any luck finding something since graduating college.

I agree with both DrummerDave and Sven, don’t get down about working the 9-5 gig remember it is going to bring in money while working out your muse. Plus you will gain valuable work and life experience. Enjoy the journey!

There is a HUGE value in having the experience of a full-time JOB. There are so many opportunities to learn how 95% of the world does it, makes a living. What are the attitudes and beliefs (stuck, can't wait for the weekend....etc...), and study the environment, how is it set up, why?
Make this a study for yourself.
Since this is "your first full-time job", you'll be amazed......it's a great learning opportunity - then get motivated.

Give your job a chance. One of the benefits of being in a workplace is the network you can build. Don't hang around the people that hate their jobs and just complain. Find the crowd that is creative and doing something about it. You will find that there are a lot of good connections, ideas and opportunities that will come through channels you did not expect.

I feel for anyone in the graduating classes of 2009 or this coming 2010. Back in the day, I thought it was rough graduating in 2001 after the dot com bubble burst, but wow, this is something else. There are people in school taking 1/2 a year off to start doing work internships rather than classes for the sake of having a job once they graduate school (and because conditions will be better).
Hopefully Obama pulls through. The $5k tax credit he's giving towards businesses to hire someone is pretty nice (not sure how I can make much use of it since I don't have an emlpoyee yet, but I'm sure I can find a way).
Times will get better and the economy is already recovering for a 2nd straight quarter.
The way I see it, anyone who is just starting to enter the workforce now is pretty much seeing the worst, at least for another 30 years. We're all developing good habits which will help us through the next tough time.
If you don't live in the US, then just ignore my post hahaha

Get into the 9-5 job ! If you start the muse without having done it, you will never know what the difference is between both ! Never forget it's about the journey and funding the muses.

Thanks for the encouragement.
Yes, I am in the US but I don't quite have as much hope that the president will be able to do much in helping the job situation. Dem or Repub, the more they do, the more that seems to get messed up and hurts the neccesary market corrections. It was a crappy time to graduate, and I should have gone straight in to a masters program and then I would be almost done with that. But, oh well.
This job sucks, but I am hoping that will light a fire under my butt to get moving. I have an idea for muse that I have been playing with a little, but I really need to get into the meat of it and figure out if the numbers are there. No more just toying with the idea and more or less playing around figuring out wordpress.
