Whenever I meet someone I admire or influential, I always ask them this:
What are your favorite books?
What are some of the most interesting books you've read recently?
Senior Member kamakiri suggested these to me in a different post:
The Secret
The Master Key System
7 Habits for Highly Effective People
Rich Dad/Poor Dad
To this list, I'd like to add some books I've read recently:
Outliers
Freakanomics
Super Freakanomics
Made to Stick
Secrets of a Buccaneer-Scholar
Crush It!
Lessons from Private Equity Any Company Can Use
I Will Teach You To Be Rich
The World According To Twitter
Currently reading:
Influence
Sway
Mistakes Were Made
ps. i highly highly recommend buying an Amazon Kindle 2

Great list so far.
I will add/endorse:
7 habits of highly effective people
How to win friends and influence people
(really these first two should be required reading for any young adult who wants to get ahead)
Secrets of power negotiating
177 mental toughness secrets
Getting things done
Made to stick
Presentation Zen
Simplicity Survival Handbook
Deep Survival
Influence by Robert Cialdini (not sure if the one previously mentioned is the same)
Secrets of a Bucanneer Scholar is on my reading list. I got it free on Kindle (I got my Dad a 1st gen Kindle) and then picked it up for a quid at my local bookstore.
I've recently enjoyed Imagination in business by Loren F Deland. It's about 100 years old - but some of the ideas are as relevant now as they were then (even if the examples are very dated).
I agree with the ereader suggestion. Thanks to Gutenberg and Internet Archive - you can get hold of a massive number of books that are out-of-copyright. There are hundreds of gems waiting to be re-discovered out there. An ereader makes it possible. Fancy reading a pamphlet by Barnum - you can. Fancy reading the diaries of people discovering new tribes for the first time in east Asia - you can.
Personally I have and love the Sony 505 - but I am considering a Kindle DX later this year. That said it is a fast moving market at the moment so I'm not sure it's worth investing huge amounts in another ereader at the moment. Proper A4 sized ones are on their way and maybe even colour ones too.

I often feel overwhelmed by just the number of books to read. I find it difficult to pick and choose and often find myself halfway through 3-4 of them

I've been trying to find a way to get the Values book to Tim, as I feel it would be of much interest to how he looks like MMA training and things of that nature. But, I have no connection to him other than being a fan of his book.

I found Zorba the Greek to be as good as Tim Ferriss says it is. You can kinda see where Tim got some of his ideas from that book.
I also like the Personal MBA books (I've read maybe 1/4 of them... it's a lot to cover in addition to books on your own you want to read).
Tim also mentioned Secrets of Power Negotiating (by Dawson?) in 4HWW. That book is solid.
Basically-- Read everything Tim Ferriss recommends, both on his blog and in his book(I could start making a list if there isn't one already) . Then read everything Eben Pagan recommends under his name David DeAngelo (you can find his reading lists on Amazon). Then read everything in the Personal MBA.
Those 3 will take you a long way IMO.

This isn't really a book, but my favorite info product out there is the Blueprint Decoded by Tyler Durden.

Yeah David DeAngelo Recommends a ton of great books! I've read The Way of The Superior Man, The Game (but who hasn't read that by now), and The Art of Seduction. I'm Reading the Magic of Thinking Big too.
