View Full Version : I'm going to Thailand next July
The only problem is, how to do it under 550 euros? :) (round trip from belgium to ko phi phi, for 5 weeks)
I've given myself this fixed budget, in order to make sure I learn to travel without spending for things that are wants but not needs..
I figured out that I could easily get food and accomodations on that budget. The only problem is getting there! Flights are a no-go since the flight alone would kill my budget :p
I'd love to hear your ideas on this :p

If you don't have the money you actually need to have the time ! The slower you travel, the cheaper it is. Should you go there by boat or bike that would be quite an adventure as well, but of course you need more time...

Hi Davy,
I just got back from Thailand this week and I had the best time since last trip I was over there.
Just to let you know I live in Australia and everything over in Thailand is cheap.
I was eating meal that would fill me up for under $2 US. And it's a pretty reasonable Pad Thai..
Furthermore, if you shop around and book early, you should be able to get a good travel fare. Otherwise, here's an idea, maybe ask for people to sponsor your trip in forums and do it for a cause. I'm pretty sure you should get some interest.
Good luck!

I'm heading near there on the 19th, so i will update when there but what I know so far, Sort transport out when you get there they charge you double to have a hotel to arrange it for you, also I have read, not sure where that Phi Phi is a great place but is a little more expensive..
But as I said, I'm in the unknown and am just heading out there and will figure it out on the way,
My planned budget is about $1000 NZ so that is 511 euro you will be sweet.
