Hey guys, I'm looking for some online advertising (preferably PPC) that has a good reach and good targeting. Obviously google ads comes up first and I have been using facebook advertising but they have abysmal click through rates.
So could anyone recommend some good PPC avenues that you may have used and perhaps anything you may have learned through your own experiences with PPC?

If you are going to use PPC, you will want to use Google as at least one of your tools. You may want to branch out to other SE's, but Google is the king of PPC ads. You can also use Google's Content network to get more exposure. I have never gotten near the conversion rate as the Google network, but it is one way to get more exposure. You can tun it on and off as you see fit.

If you can't get what you are looking for from Google's PPC, I don't think the other SE's will do any better.

It depends on what your market is.

My primary market is moms with school aged kids (my biz is LiceHelp.com). Google PPC (Pay Per Click) is NOT good at all with that. It is more male oriented, more tech oriented than say...Yahoo.

So, for me, Yahoo and AOL is a much better bang-for-buck because they appeal more to moms and families.

There are specific search engines or tailored ones that might reach your specific audience better and the costs would be lower.

Overall, I agree that Google is the place to start but keep in mind other options! Google is not the "end all".
