Hello, I'm new to this forum. I just finished reading the book and I can't find a good muse. I look for a target market by using the google keyword tool application and I just look for what people are googling, but this still doesn't hit home for me and help me pin-point something I want to niche that has little competiting where there's a possibility of dominating the keywords. Right now, I'm traveling through India and I thought I could find some tribal jewelry or nice ethnic bedspreads to sell, but no one seems to be googling these things. Are there other ways to pin-point niches? My qualifications are just all-across the board. I'm a college-graduate, but I feel like I have no specific skills. What would be the best way I could get started?

I sent you a pm with a few links
Basically start by asking yourself
What do i like to do, read, talkabout, where have i been or reasearched going. What things have i purchased or researched purchasing.
All these questions provide great clues to your best niche categories..
Once you have a few ideas here its time to hit googles search based external keyword tool. Instead of jumping in and searching instantly for keywords, just browse the categories that you are interested in above.
Once youve narrowed it down as far as this tool will go in category mode its time to start searching on specific keywords. Start with short tail keywords..
Once you get to the stage this tool provides no further results you need to be logged into your adwords account to get more specific.
Have a read of Niche Ideas (http://www.squidoo.com/nicheproductideas) I set this squidoo lense up becasue so many people ask this question.
There are a heap of other free tools on that site that you may find very helpful in locating niche ideas.

Go to Yahoo Answers (http://answers.yahoo.com). Go to Google Trends (http://www.google.com/trends). Go to Twit Scoop (http://www.twitscoop.com/).
Look at what people are up to, what they're searching, what questions they have, what problems they have. This should help you come up with some ideas. Your first muse is probably going to fail, so it's a matter of jumping in, doing it and learning from it.

Ahh...the 'go-for-failure-success method'; thanks for reminding me. That's so true. I appreciate the good advice.
