I made a really crude, unrehearsed video for a squeeze page for my muse - www.smarterthanwallstreet.com. The link to the video is below.
Things I already know:
Sound quality sucks and will be improved prior to use
The second part of the video the frame shrinks - this again will change
I mostly want to know if the information is easy to understand and if this might help motivate people to try the service for free for the balance of this year.
As an update, I have about 100 free subscribers from the past 5 weeks with the site as is. I've spent about $120 on adwords with average cpc of $0.83. My opt in rate has been around 35% as there have been some additional signups from organic search and some article submissions I've been doing the past couple of weeks.
Here's the video link: http://www.screencast.com/t/4iyQ4iOs
Thanks,
Jay

Maybe consider making it shorter? 30 min is a bit intimidating for an intro. I'd probably have a tough time watching anything longer than 10 min for a site I just came across, 5 would be even better. Then once they opt in to the squeeze page, maybe have a longer, expanded video there.

Yeah, what I'm thinking is having the first part (which is 5 minutes) lead people into the optin form to get access to the second part and some other videos that actually show the software working and the trade history.
Thanks.

Jay, I'd absolutely go that route -- short pre-opt-in video followed by lengthy post-opt video. Overall, I like where you're headed and the vid contains a wealth of insight.. I would say that the initial "get me to opt-in" video may need to be even more concise. 30 seconds of highly compelling benefits/expected outcomes may give you higher opt-ins than something longer with less focus on gains. The first video need do nothing more than whet the appetite. So, consider a concise, scripted (ideally video of yourself instead of screencast) pitch to get people converted to the other side. That's when they're seeking the level of detail/explanation that you offer in the vid you posted.
Also, check your email, sent you something..

What, if any, critical steps would be recommended for the squeeze video?
Like:
1. Opening sentence should be...
2. Then ...
3. Etc.
Just curious what people think. I sat in my quasi recording office for about 2 hours and came up with nothing. I can't seem to figure out what should be said first, then next, and when/how to close the video. My product seems kind of complicated and since I'm not giving away a report but rather giving away the service it seems really tough to get it to fit in just 2-3 minutes.
Suggestions/tips/etc are all welcome and appreciated.
Jay
