Health Insurance?

I know you guys probably already addressed this somewhere on these boards but I can't find it... I am new. :-/

Any thoughts on good alternatives for NR self-employed health insurance? The options in the book seemed a little steep to me. There has to be a better way. Right now, this is the one thing motivating to stay at a dead end job. I know it is all fear-based but some fear is based in logic.

Well, Self employment insurance doesn't beat company insurance. I know my local chamber of commerce offers group benefits for members.

I used a combination of esurance.com and a health savings account. If you're healthy, it's easy and cheap. Cheaper than when I worked for a company and my plan covers 100% of everything. Anything medical related comes out of the pretax saving account, and the insurance covers a catastrophic injury.
