Hi everyone,

I am in the process of bringing up a new blog and would love for you all to help me out. I've been pretty active here as of late answering alot of questions and providing many of you with my 15 + years of marketing experience. That won't change, I enjoy posting here alot. What I was wondering is if any of you have any topics you would like to see covered or questions on marketing, product development, SEO, copywriting, web traffic or anything else you would like to please send them to me via a private message or email me at insidethenewrich@gmail.com. I can get into more depth on a topic and answer any questions more thoroughly on a blog than I can do here on a message board or on a private message. I hope to hear from you soon, and I will be sure to announce when the site and blog is active so you may visit.

Thank you,
Rob

I am not going to email you, but I do have a few questions if you want to comment here or blog the answers I would be happy to hear your input.

#1 What would you add to my site GameBRAIN (http://www.gamebrain.us) in terms of SEO?

I mainly ask because I outsourced the entire thing, and know nothing about SEO other than what the acronym stands for. The last time I studied that was when google first came out and the next biggest thing to get in your html was 'meta tags', and I am not going to study it again. Far more low hanging fruit that I can go after.

#2 How can I drive web traffic to the site?

I am sure I could spend $50,000 a month to do it, but last I checked my checking account would only support that habit for 3.5 weeks.

I look forward to your answers.

How about what are the key essential details of SEO. There's so much flying around about what should be done, what needs to be done, what you should be paying somebody to be done...etc.

What are the bare necessities of SEO that the normal site builder should know. How about this...does anybody really know? At least as far as the big 3 are concerned. Does anybody have any sort of solid idea of what the big 3 need to optimize your exposure?

Kamakiri, did you consider hiring specialized SEO teams from elance to take care of that for you? I think you can hire some of those outsourcers for short term and see if their work made any difference to your traffic. Also, did you contact the major gamer magazines/chat sites etc and the advertising options there?

I just got back from Burning Man. The site went up the day I left Japan. I am completely in the testing phase. I am not going to hit game related forums or sites until I have tested things a bit, and have the site translated into Japanese. I will be rolling out my product here first anyway.

Over - the bare necessities change weekly at this point.

I use google adwords keyword tool and manual searches for competition for the keywords. I also use the free evaluation version of Market Samurai, but that one is buggy and not too reliable. Once you find some good (and inexpensive) keywords with a decent amount of traffic and acceptable amount of competition, you do the testing by setting up adwords campaigns with a small budget. If you don't have much money, set up a few dollars of daily budget. You can either play with it a bit yourself and see how much traffic you are getting with the adwords campaigns, and then outsource the adwords campaign project, or do the whole thing yourself like a few people here have done. It takes a few days to master adwords. I'd recommend the training videos from thirtydaychallenge.com as blackhat has suggested in another post.

They have excellent training videos on SEO, social bookmarking, and various tools and tactics for finding and testing muses.
