I've used all the tools that Tim recommends and either, I'm not a capable enough communicator, I'm a control freak, or the programmers I've drawn in to my projects are actually gnomes masquerading as IT professionals.

I URGENTLY need to find a provider to replace my non-functioning technology team.

I can provide details if you e-mail me, or, feel free to follow this link to the eLance posting.

I am working quickly, with a small budget, doing everything I can to create a muse that has positive benefit in the world.

The concept is down. The partnerships are in place. The content is complete. The launch date is set. And I need a team that can deliver to spec.

If you know anyone, please refer them. I've enabled this post so that you can e-mail me directly. PLEASE only email me regarding this post. If I get advertisements from you, I'll hunt you down and shave dirty words in your back hair.

Or something like that.

I really appreciate the help. I'm not sure if this forum is designed to be a classified listing. And, I'm in GSD mode!

I'll ask for forgiveness later.

4hww RULES! Let's DO this!

I am working quickly, with a small budget,
Im a programmer, and from that alone i can tell you why you attracted the "gnomes" to your project.
Its like most things: fast, cheap, reliable, ---- pick 2

if ur trying to get some minor code done then thats one thing, but if you have a serious project you need a serious budget. Good programmers know not to sell themselves short while inexperienced/new ppl will do their best to undercut everyone else to build their resume. Hope this helps and best of luck finding ur talent and launching.

I am a programmer too and I am with badhank on this.

Quality (robustness), schedule and cost are difficult to align (Usually you can fix only 1 or 2 of this subjects)

However if you need some external view at your project I can lend you a hand "pro-bono" but for your post it seems like you have a clear idea of what you need (or what you think you need...). Anyway, if I can help you just PM me.

yea i dont have an elance account so i cant see the project details, what is the extent of this site, maybe we can get a few of the more technically inclined folks here to help draw up a practical and concise outline you can have another freelancer fill, it will take the headache out of it for you as you mentioned a problem communicating

I own a Chicago-based offshore development firm. We might be able to help depending on the project.

Our rate is $20/hour. We aren't the biggest, the cheapest, and we aren't 'yes-men' but we're fanatically committed.

Let me know if it makes sense to chat.

My budget didn't start small.

I paid in advance believing work was being done.

Now the money is tight and there's still no site. (Hey, that rhymes).

Raza, dig the blog. Can you forward some links of your completed work?

Perhaps these two clarifying e-mails will help...

I'm following a Product Launch Formula style launch, so things need to be done on time.

Here's what I need. I URGENTLY need a programmer/developer w/ chops who can

1. Build the site
2. Execute the technological elements of the launch (list, blog, networking/distribution, etc.)

Our launch date is the 5th of June and my current technology team has completed 1% of what we need to get there. We started in November last year.

Simply, can you refer good people who have the time to complete the above?
And, can any of the people you can refer work on a reasonable budget? (We burned through a significant portion of the budget hiring these guys.)

I've partnered w/ author and parenting expert Dr. Jayne A. Major Ph.D. (www.BreakthroughParentingServices.org - you'll get a headache noticing all the things that aren't optimal about her site). She's a typical genius-in-the-classroom w/ zero-marketing-savvy.

Her class saved my relationship with my son.

She has a standout book called Breakthrough Parenting (which did well because she partnered w/ a marketing person on it -- they've since had a falling out).

I'm creating a new site called BreakthroughParentingInAction.com in order to focus on Parents IN ACTION.
I'm wrestling with two things here:

a) a curriculum site that has a hefty php-video database that loads based on people's responses to multiple choice questions. I can share a google.docs presentation that outlines the page-load order - LET ME KNOW...

b) a membership site that I'm currently modeling after herbmentor.com (which I learned about from Jeff Walker, who I learned about Product Launches from).

Pricepoint is shaping into $14.95/mo Membership w/ curriculum free, or, Curriculum only @ $30/year w/ unlimited use... Still testing.

Even my brother, who would move mountains for me if he could, and is a topflight ninja (www.morgansolutions.com) can't make the time to help me at $150/hr.

The guys I hired are Stateside, SoCal, like me. I picked them so I could have someone sit down next to me and learn me the ropes. I'm slow, but when I get something I get something -- a trait many people don't have.

They turned out to be $100/hr. Another reason I hired them is they have delivered Fortune500 level sites in the past. I think big and am building this to start out list-building-style and build into family-facebook style.

My feeling is now, that I don't have time to educate, I must identify the educated.

So, I'm shopping in the $20/hr market. And I'm willing to shop in the $100/hr market. I just need someone who knows my/our brand of InternetEnglish and who can deliver in 10 minutes to 10 hours and not 10 days to 10 weeks.

One of my main concerns is that I'm not spending my own money on this. I have a backer who is VERY hesitant to go too far out on a limb financially. It's embarrassing to be in this predicament -- I'm fortunate that he is so forgiving and passionate about children.

Thanks for the posts guys! I appreciate your support!
